Red Bull was one of the teams in Formula 1 with Fernando Alonso
contacted before signing the contract now with the team Renault. It
even came to say that Red Bull was his first choice for several weeks
and that the Renault was the last. But the sports director of Red Bull,
Christian Horner, now denies it and said he had a place for Fernando
Alonso in Red Bull.
"We were flattered to be included in
speculation about Fernando. I think this is a very clear demonstration
of the progress we have made over the past 18 months and says that as a
team emerging for the future, but Renault was the logical site for he
was, "said Horner.
Anyway it dissociates itself from the
alleged conversations. "We announce our pilots in the summer and we
never intend to change them," he said.
